Tom and Gren have been described as “one of the brightest young acts on the folk scene today”. Tom is one of the finest fiddlers on the scene today and Gren is a talented singer-songwriter. They play music from a remarkably broad range of sources, merging traditional English song and original material with old blues and folk tunes from the US. Will be another night to remember!
April 15th - Winter Wilson - Admission £6
Kip and Dave wowed audiences at Chester Folk Festival 2011 with their superb self-penned songs and passionate performances. As engaging a pair as one could meet in many a long day’s march. Great singing, great playing, and great stage presence. Not to be missed!
April 29th - Rose Price - Admission £5
Return of a Chester legend. Before pressures of work and life caused her to stop playing live, Rose was one of the most respected and admired performers on the local folk scene. It’s a great pleasure to see her return to treading the boards and we’re delighted she’s chosen the Raven for one of her first gigs.
May 20th - Dave Ellis and Boo Howard - Admission £6
Excellent blues flavoured London-based duo with a long and distinguished pedigree. Dave turned up at the Raven last year and did a fine floor spot. He now returns with his long-time musical partner, Boo Howard.
Sept 16th - Greg Russell and Ciaran Algar - Admission £6
If you thought the Dynamic Duo were called Batman and Robin, think again. They are actually called Greg and Ciaran! One of the freshest acts on the folk scene and one of the hottest properties we think. The mighty voice and dexterous guitar of Mr Russell combined with the dazzling multi-instrumental dexterity and insouciant wit of Mr Algar. Hang on to your seats, this will be quite a ride!
